The Town, Lake Waccamaw - North Carolina
You can see the true spirit of community in Lake Waccamaw Town. It
is a small town with about 1000 of population and the beauty of this place is
it's active senior community. If someone is sick, churches around the lake
announce that so people would know. This way the word is passed and all take care of each other in a
better way.
There is a public beach near Dale's Seafood Restaurant which is not all marked and one can learn about the place
for fun easily by asking anyone at the restaurant. Because of the Town’s Active
senior community, the town gets many school groups, Church groups and also many
senior centers who visit here.
Although it is a small town, still it offers almost everything
that one needs. A post station, Bank, couple of gas stations, dollar stores, Liquor Store and a Chinese takeout
place for fast food. There is also an amazing old general store
named as Pierce & Company. From here you can find nuts and bolts, sauces,
washer/dryer, garden seeds or anything else that you need for your place. There
are not many public places except for the public beach and State Park. If you
are planning to retire in beautiful place with active senior community, a luxurious North Carolina Retirement Home at Lake Waccamaw will be a perfect choice.

A Great Lake Front Retirement Home in North Carolina
Lake
Waccamaw is a natural lake with some species that don't exist anywhere else in
the world. Its origin, along with the other smaller Carolina Bay lakes, has
been a subject of much research and speculation. The theory that the lakes are
fed by artisian springs makes a lot of sense to me, since this property boasts
one of the few artisian wells on Lake Waccamaw.
When the
wind blows, it can turn up whitecaps and breakers. When it is still, it looks
like glass. You can walk along a pier and see down to the bottom. It is shallow
for a long way out, which tends to make it warm. This is good or bad, depending
on your point-of-view. Kids love it. And it is a perfect place for sandcastles
and fulfilling your dreams of a lakeside retirement home in North Carolina.
Swimming in
Lake Waccamaw is also quite refreshing. If the wind isn't blowing, it's a
little like taking a warm bath on a hot day. Just laying around on a float is
also popular. It is a wonderful lake for boating, sailing, jet-skis, canoes,
kayaks, speedboats, and pontoon boats.
It is not uncommon to see a flotilla of pontoon boats hooked together
and grilling burgers on board, drinking beer, and playing water volleyball at
the far end of the lake. At Christmas, a wet suited Santa on a jet-ski leads
lighted boats around the lake.
Lake
Waccamaw is most famous for the simple serenity of a village. At the great retirement home on Bella Coola
Road, there are rocking chairs on the patio and glass sun-room facing the lake
that are perfect for reading and napping. You can just close your eyes and go to a peaceful place while listening
to the waves lapping up on the shore.
